Gaia Project is an advanced civilisation-building game where players terraform planets and expand their empires. Strategic planning and resource allocation are key to success.
Gaia Project is the digital adaptation of the boardgame Gaia Project created by Helge Ostertag and Jens Drögemüller and published by “Feuerland Verlag“. It is a 1-4 player strategy game. It plays in the same universe as Terra Mystica and continues the adventure in the far future.
The game is fun to play. It seems to be pretty faithful to the rules of the board game it is based on.
The digital version simplifies lots of the math and currency conversions. You can click on something you want to do, and it will show you the price, including with all of your upgrades and discounts factored in. If you don’t have the exact units required, the game will show alternate prices, using the free action resource exchanges. This is fantastic.
It plays quicker than the board game. Without all of the math and “What if…” calculations, it dramatically reduces the duration of the game, without losing any enjoyment.
